Since there are two MoldSafe scenarios, perhaps Nathan or Cassandra would like to present the sales pitch to use when a prospect is ordering a home inspection and is also considering indoor air quality testing.

Ex: "Why get IAQ testing when you are giving me MoldSafe Warranty with the home isnpection"?

And what was the 1 year liability protection exactly referring to with regards to mold testing?

This is a blanket liability policy we are in the process of finalizing that will cover every inspector for any liability regarding mold testing and mold inspections that utilizes either InspectorLab or MoldSafe. It's really quite revolutionary- no one has ever bought an insurance policy for an entire industry before.

We'll make a very loud announcement on that one.

I don't know if that question will ever come up, in fact I think the opposite is much more likely to occur. This is a long explanation, you'll see my response shortly right here.

To Pete's question, there's a bit to it.

MoldSafe is the name we chose for a mold guarantee products. They take two forms:

1. MoldSafe "Free with every inspection", whereby during the course of your inspection if there's no visible mold or moisture issues, and the buyer later finds visible mold, we pay to fix it.
2. MoldSafe "Guaranteed Results", which is a free policy that comes with every InspectorLab test result and says if the results were satisfactory, and the client later finds visible mold, we pay to fix it.

Slight differences of course.

Pete's question speaks to the hypothetical situation that someone calls in for a mold test, but then backs out based on the presents of the MoldSafe free with Pete's inspection. I think this scenario is incredibly unlikely. The reasons why people get mold test are simple;

a. They have allergy issues, would test any house they bought, or smell something and want to get a test. In other words, for comfort. It isn't something they'll take any chances with.
b. There is visible mold that comes up in the inspection, so they do a test in response (MoldSafe free with inspection wouldn't cover that issue).
c. They had remediation and they're looking for a test to verify it was effective (and they're not doing an inspection).

In all three of the likely scenarios that someone orders a mold test, there's no way I can see that MoldSafe would get in the way- it would only help occasionally.

It's a great question though, and in another product we offer it can definitely cause a similar issue. If you're offering sewer camera inspections and making a lot of money doing it, don't offer SewerGard. It will cost you money.

With the Guaranteed results from InspectorLab, how much is covered under this policy? Is it the 2K like with the MoldSafe given with each inspection?

Nathan I know we kind of talked about this, but I don't remember a very solid answer.

Explain why we would offer mold safe without doing mold testing.

You should definitely do both, but if you're not offering mold testing at least you're checking for visible mold as most do during the course of the inspection and if some pops up after move in we can cover remediation.

I think very few will offer MoldSafe and not be a mold tester. Several hundred (and maybe 1,000 by now) test for mold through InspectorLab and do not use the inspection product MoldSafe.

But why tell them they are safe from mold if we didn't test? Maybe it's just the name of it. Maybe MoldGuard would have been better. I don't mind guarding people from mold. I just have reservations of telling them they are safe from
It without testing.

They would be "MoldSafe" with a visual inspection for mold.

If you do IAQ for mold and it comes back with nothing they are "MoldSafe."

If you do IAQ and it comes back with mold you can then do another mold test (make more $$$) AFTER the cleaning and if it comes back with nothing they are then "MoldSafe."

Nathan doesn't advertise pricing just like home inspectors don't.
