The highest I have recorded is a 21.4, but that was low compared to the client's neighbor who had a 27.8. The neighbor's wife was a non-smoker and otherwise in good health. Then she came down with lung cancer. That is what ended up prompting the radon testing for the neighbor who shared the findings with others in the neighborhood.

Highest Radon ???? 482 pCi/l FOR REAL !!!!!
See attached report. It was a house with deep water well in area with exposed soil in the basement. (pulling lots of soil gas as a chimney would) The area is has shale gas wells (uranium source....daughters of uranium are radium and then radon)
I was concerned that there was something else I was missing so the test was done again..... less than 5% difference.
In our area we have a 58% failure rate.....Thank you Marcellus Shale deposit. It is common to have between 20 and 30 pCi/l
The house we raised our family in had a reading of 85 pCi/l before radon system
Now for the good part...I will attach an article I wrote on Radon and the need for testing. Feel free to use it and share it.
I sold a lot of radon tests with that article ............... you can too !!!!!

Fantastic topic!
We had a radon test come back at 118 last year!!! It was a half basement/crawl space with dirt floor. Pretty much a mitigation nightmare.
We performed the retest post mitigation and the house was brought down to close to zero.

I’d say on average we’re between 2-12 pCi/L. Once or twice a month we’ll see a reading over 20 pCi/L.
Like I posted above, we’ve seen some pretty high readings!

Out of the tests I've done, the highest I've seen was around 18. Most of mine have been 10 and under.

Those levels are crazy high. I will have to double check to see what our highest levels recorded were, but no where near 100. And as far as lowering the recommended level for installing mitigation systems goes, I don't think it would be the installers that would be complaining. It is probably more of a supply issue, as with everything else at the time.
