Being able to provide the complete range of environmental sampling options offered by Priority Lab has been a true value add to our customers. Rather than need to find a trusted company to collect samples, they can simply have HomePro sample for them. Saves time, money and avoids confusion.

The Kentuckiana (Greater Louisville) area is infamous for its allergy problems. Warmer, humid weather, lots of crawlspaces creates a great environment for allergens and other air quality problems. The biggest service we Guardian Inspections believe we can provide is protection and confidence to our clients, and if that doesn't include IAQ and mold and chemical testing, we shorting our clients. So we make a point to offer testing with every inspection at reasonable rates. Easy and quick to do. Quick and clear results from Inspectorlab, its a slam dunk.

Sincerely,

We've been called in a few times for VOC testing, especially when mold testing doesn't show anything and the homeowners are experiencing health issues that get worse at home. We normally find that there is hidden mold or some other chemical issue in the house.

Having environmental testing options at our fingertips makes us a valuable resource and opens up mutually-beneficially partnership arrangements. Northeast Ohio has very unpredictable weather and that can create air quality issues for the residents. Additionally, we run across people who are "chemically injured". If we can't solve their problem, we refer them to someone who can. Great services, great labs, and great partners make our job easier.

With the Northern states having basements, we tend to have a lot of biogrowth issues, especially with crawlspaces (nobody wants to go down in them). I wish more clients would do testing, especially if there are young children or adults that may have breathing issues.

It's important to get a Professional Test.

Professionals looking for lab services should visit http://www.InspectionSuccess.net/InspectorLab or http://www.PriorityLab.com

Before you purchase a "Consumer Mold Test Kit", check out this video: https://youtu.be/7MBxcLfNr5k

Consumer Mold Test Kits sold at Home Depot, Lowe's, Menards, and online retailers like Wal-Mart and Amazon from companies like Pro Lab and Mold Armour do not work and should be avoided. Additionally, don't be fooled by the $10 price point. By the time you get home to take the test you'll see in the video above you will find that there is an additional fee of $40-$50 per sample required to get results.

I believe like Nathan said it is important to get a professional mold test. Tri County Home Inspection uses InspectorLab and have had great success. Turnaround times are fast and the InspectorLab reports are very easy for home buyers as well as real estate agents to read. Our only issue has been the delivery delay by USPS. We have solved this by using the Fedex labels pre paid through InspectorLab. We can drop them at any Walgreens and they get delivered by noon the following day.

I have have been in places that seemingly had no mold problem, yet the air sample revealed high levels of unhealthy mold. Follow up investigation revealed mold on the underside of cardboard boxes on the concrete floor in the basement.

One never knows what may be lingering in the air. Testing and the resulting lab report is the only means to know. We have seen very clean homes with no obvious issues show a high spore count. We happily can come and test.

We get a lot of clients that are buying houses where the seller has indicated in the disclosure that the basement has had water intrusion in the past. With nothing else know about the situation, they want to do mold testing just to be sure there are no hidden issues.

Sometimes people do not realize that there may be an issue until they have lived in the home for awhile. Often when we do environmental testing it is for a home owner who is having some issues. Recently we did VOC and Mold testing for a family who had a child that began to have seizures after moving into the home. We discovered high formaldehyde levels in the home and especially in that childs room.

We also did a smoke test to the sewer line for a home owner having bad odors and her feeling sick after workers did some improvements to the home. By the amount of smoke coming out from under the toilet, the wax ring is missing or barely there because there is nearly no seal there. Also the vent stack was leaking into the attic space as well.

Environmental testing is something to have done by home owners and not just home buyers.

Living in Florida we have 2 distinct seasons, hot and wet. Both of those increase the likelihood of mold growth regardless of whether it is a new home or older home. The problem is that unless you get the mold tested by a lab like Inspector Lab, you won't know whether it is something that can be cleaned with bleach and water or needs to be remediated. At Inspectagator, we can go in and test that mold through air quality samples as well as swabs and provide results in 24-48 hours. It is always safer to have it tested by a lab.
