Radon detection and mitigation seems to be the hottest topic here in Missouri.

Who has experience testing and what equipment / services do you suggest?

i got my license for IL back in May and I received several inspections with radon test since I got my license. I even have received a couple stand alone radon test (of course I charge more for that). I use Radalink. I don't know how MO would do a license/certification. But in IL you can be a Radon (testing) Professional or Radon (testing) Technician. It really depends how much work you want to put in for maintaining your radon equipment. With Radalink, they are the professionals you work under, I call them with questions to make sure I do things correctly. They also maintain the equipment that you rent from them. So all you have to do is set the equipment and pick it up after 48 hours. With other brands, you may own the equipment, but you will have to be a professional and have to deal with all of the calibrations and QA/QC yourself. Another good point with Radalink is that you can rent more or return units as necessary.

I wouldn't use anything but Radalink, but that's just me. There's a number of great options out there- I like E-Perms as well.

The reason I like Radalink is everything is done for you and the results are interpreted at an independent lab. The results are guaranteed, as is the reliability of the equipment, and you don't have to worry about calibrations, maintenance, or buying more monitors than you need because Radalink will send you additional units in the busy season.

I have two Radalink monitors. Can't beat the report turn around time (less than one hour). The color graphs in the report are pretty awesome looking too!

I'm thinking of getting into Radon testing as well. Will definitely give Radalink a call!

10 machines here and going to 15 next month...I like them because of their professional standard. They are not cheap, but they are excellent machines.

I'm in the St. Louis, Mo. area, and most of the inspectors I'm aware of through our ASHI chapter use what I use, the Sun Nuclear Model 1027. They're relatively inexpensive, they're accurate, and they're very easy to use. I wouldn't consider anything else. JMHO

I'm a rad star 300 fan and have 10 units and one printer thats the size of a credit card printer.

The good thing about monitors is they keep their value extremely well so always error on the side of having a few your not using laying around your office so you always have a unit available.

I always buy brand new but if you look online you will see how well units hold their value.

They are an add on to my inspection. I do zero marketing to radon and my staff sells radon on the majority of my inspections. We are a hotspot here in wisconsin and public awairness is my best source of marketing. And it's free to me!

Look at the RadStar 300

I like the reporting and ease of use over the 1027. I sold my 1027's and switched to the 300's
