That's pretty insane compared to an average high (that I've seen) of 9 pCi/L.

Maine is higher than other states in radon. We have lots of granite in the ground. The person in charge of radon for the state has seen radon in water over 1,000.000 pCi/l.. That's right, one million. But it tends to be higher in water. I did a radon water test recently that was over 8000.

22.4 was my highest in Grand Rapids, MI area. I also tested it against another machine to verify. It checked out the same. I use the RadStar RS300 monitors.

The highest I've ever tested was 34.8. More importantly though is the fact that over the past 5 years as I have been running side by side tests after calibrations (2 machines / 2 tests per year) the average concentration in my home has risen from the 2.5 - 2.7 range to 4.1 for the past 2 tests. I've begun sharing this with my clients when they look at me like I am crazy for suggesting they test.

I've hit my highest recently of a whole 17.1 pCi/L. I almost congratulated the clients for having the highest results on a test. I figured that would have been in bad form. I found out the mother is also super paranoid and over protective when it comes to the health of her daughter. I had a 30 min discussion with her about post mitigation results being 2 pCi/L and the chances of her daughter getting cancer at those levels.

Broke my previous record for Highest Average Radon Concentration. 30.6 pCi/l. The agent called and asked if perhaps the machine was broken

I guess I live in a "hot spot"
I had a test come back at 637.5 pCi/l (this was a few years ago, and just last month I had a test at 700.7 pCi/l.

When a client freaks out when they see a result like 8 or 12, I show them the 700.7 test result to make them feel better

Yeah, from what I understand PA is what put Radon on the map in the early 1980's
