Yes the FC40 was used in the video. It too has GPS, return home feature, and a camera controlled through my phone. Just no powered Gimbal to rotate the camera. Its a fixed point mount.

I forgot that my quad copter has a powered gimbal that pans up and down to help capture the best picture.

Juan Jimenez wrote:I want to get a pole or a copter with camera. With poles, how do you point the camera downwards or move them around from the ground?

Regarding pointing downward - the Polester has an attachment that allows for angular shots. Also, you can create enough bend to get downward images. Picture a fishing pole with less bend. The images you get are macro enough that a downward image is not a problem. It may be difficult to imagine by reading this.

Regarding moving around on the ground, it is not difficult to do. The pole is comprised of four 5 foot sections, each with a large plastic wing nut that you loosen to extend or retract that section.

BRUCE

Thanks for sharing these articles. Hopefully this will help some Home Inspectors and Realtor alike understand the practice of inspectors using drones to help aid in finding concerns not found or seen from the ground, ladder and or a window.

Even better !
See that a concern has been corrected !!!!

I read an article (Active Rain) today that Realtors who have used drones to capture property photos have been told by the FAA that they are violating FAA rules by using the drones for commercial purposes. Realtors responded that they weren't selling the photos but the FAA basically said it does not matter. If you use it for commercial work, you must have the proper permits from the FAA. And since they haven't established the rules, you can't get a permit.

As I understand it, they are working on those regulations now so at some point you will have regulations to contend with.

I will continue to use my Eye Stick for those roofs I can't climb.

I'm going to patent the process of using a drone for inspecting.

Boots on the Roof is one of our catchphrases. We bring the drone to every inspection and if we need it, only 5 minutes to get it in the air. Use every tool that you can.
