All entrants to the PUC will be screened by DEA agents for anthrax, dope, laundered money, etc., etc.

But CCW totally allowed.

We do have security. Former military, special forces. Not kidding. We take security and safety seriously, and when you're responsible for 200-300 people from door to door airport/downtown, all having a great time, they don't need to worry about ANYTHING.

We had three individuals last year that attempted to enter the conference that weren't registered. They were escorted off the property. None of our attendees knew the wiser- except for maybe a couple they were coming to meet. I'm not sure.

That IMO inhibits interactions. I really don't care to interact with people that hide their identities.

Why even allow anyone to do an initial post w/o setting up their real ID and also completing their profile?

Such a simple req't would save a lot of nuisance posting and keep serious new folks from dragging out the process to out themselves.

Expedite Communications by implementation of some minimum basic req'ts for particiapation!

William Chandler wrote:The HI industry in ten years...

HI will deliver data reports (think a subscription to LexisNexis) on historical building permits to prevent delays found by the title company
The HI will offer some sort of repair mechanism to take care of open permits - think similar to subbing pest control, etc.

The HI will be more integral in selling/supporting repair contracts with roofers, plumbers, HVAC, etc. (outside of the home warranty)

More HI's will obtain other licenses such as pest control for WDO inspections or HVAC for service contracts, etc.

The HI will morph into a higher role such as licensed building inspectors and could possibly subcontract to building departments (avg. city building inspector now has 50+ inspections a day when the ICC recommends only 10) primarily as the city/county does not have the money to hire enough inspectors.

The HI will morph into a one call resource for the HO and will finally begin to understand the business value in being the HO's initial consultant and outside vendors will begin to grasp the value in working with the HI. The HI is in a unique selling position when most service vendors don't even know they exist. Think doubling your business without any extra selling effort so to speak.

Smart HI's will become a greater resource for the realtor with CE's, information and industry trends/new product offerings (like 18 mo warranty).

HI's will get paid to deliver added services such as alarms, security, dog training, lawn care and my personal favorite - homeowners insurance! AND, I sure as hell won't sell insurance for the agent who thinks I should do a wind mitigation for $40 - kiss my ass, you are losing this customer!

Within the next 10 years, successful home inspection firms will be in the drivers seat if you develop your product line, conduct yourself as a businessman/woman and act accordingly.

Within the next ten years, over 50% of the home inspectors currently in the business will be gone as independents. You will be in a new profession, working for a large firm with vision, only performing specialty inspections or you will be a sub to a specialty concern on a needed basis.

Within the next ten years, at least one of the major HI associations will be gone forever.

As Zig said, "See you at the top"

I think your observations are right in line with what is happening in Florida. I think we will see more changes in the next 10 years than we have seen in the last 30.

NSS! Of course we know you know.

My point is that we, your clients, do not know who many posters are.

Therefore, I, for one, am generally unwilling to interact with complete strangers, and I really don't like interacting with those who do not indicate their geo location, which should be mandatory.
