After a couple of uses, I can attest to their effective "traction" (?) So far, with the high top boots, it's a challenge to lean forward while walking upward on the slope. Maybe they need breaking-in, or maybe I shouldn't lace them all the way up, (and the low-tops appear out-of-circulation.)

Thanks for the initial feedback. I have been considered a pair for myself. Could you keep us updated on paws as you use them more? Also, let us know how long the pads seem to last (about how many roof inspections you get out of a set of pads, etc.). I would also prefer a set of low tops.
Thanks for the updates.

I love the shoes. I was able to get the low tops. I have had them for over a year with the initial set of pads, but I only used them on steep roofs. They are great.
You need to order a smaller size than you typically wear.

Do these work on all types of roofs or should be used on asphalt?

No, just asphalt comp. The surface of the pads are actually smooth; the soft foam-rubber-like material allows the individual granules to press into the pad surface for the "grab" effect.

I change them out at least twice a year but I climb a lot of roofs. don't go to long or they will fail and things get slippery. I think I pay about $20 bucks for a new set not worth taking unnecessary chances.

Thanks for the updates.
So, did you get any, Ed?
As it turns out for me I've only needed to use them about once/month; but I still like them. So, I haven't thought about pad replacement. I try to minimize walking around on pavement.
With the high-tops, I only lace them up to my ankle bone; and wrapping the excess lacing fully around my ankle.
I find walking up the steeper slopes backwards keeps my weight more in balance over the feet.

Philo, never - ever walk backwards on a roof. I know that I sometimes live on the wild side and break rules but you will not catch me walking backwards on a roof.

That's OK. I have a back-up camera on by ball cap.
