Just kidding

In all seriousness though, there's no joke to be made about disabilities or a loss of senses. I only made this post because of something interesting that was shared with me- another online provider just launched closed captioning for deaf inspectors. Inspectors who potentially can't hear a smoke detector, a noisy fan, a sump alarm, or...dripping water in a wall. Or the hissing of gases or air leaks.

Of course I'd rather have a deaf inspector than a blind one any day of the week, should inspectors without hearing be in the profession?

It's a visual inspection not an acoustic test . Stop testing smoke alarms.

I'm not discriminating, I'm just saying if you're going to work at Hooters you should probably be able to fit in the uniform and if you're going to be a home inspector you should probably be able to hear, see, smell, and feel any component in the home.

And if you're in the warranty business you should probably have the proven compliant ability to write the check

Why not, there are actually ones who can't see well, read well, write well...

Obviously things can shift, but we haven't had a single "no" so far, but a majority in the "With an assistant" category- that was my vote by the way.

An conspector in my area is a H.S. Dropout. Had to get a GED. I'm surely confident that he can analyze complex situations and compose his thoughts into legitimate commentaries.

Going back almost 40 yrs, I don't think H.S. even delved into algebra much if at all.

Just the background so many buyers should be looking for.
