Anyone have a good comment they use with a roof that has sections with heavy coating of Lichen? This stuff was nasty. Also, is there a good way to prevent it?
Thanks

I usually tell people the growth may cause premature failure of the roof covering material. Also that some clients have had good luck with having a roofing contractor install the product at the link below, or similar material.
Thanks.

I usually let my client know that it will damage the roof shingles and reduce the expected life.....sometimes significantly. I warn them that removing the lichen will also expose more shingle material due to the granules that will be removed at the same time. Prevention in my area is usually zinc or copper flashing / rods but areas like the one you show would take a very long time to show any progress. I also mention that overhanging tree branches should be trimmed back to allow the shingles to dry out quickly. Mostly a problem on North facing roofs in my area.

Another product, that I actually used on my roof, is "spray and forget".
To my surprise, it really worked.

Mould, lichen, and other unsightly growths are not necessarily detrimental to the longevity of your tile roof. However, they can interfere with the free drainage of precipitation off the roof slope. Get ready all the cleaning tools. Pressure cleaning might be necessary

If there are shingles on the roof then it is better to do spray wash because pressure cleaning can destroy the shingles. I would always recommend you to hire residential cleaning services to clean the roofs. When we try to clean the roof by ourselves, the chances of accidents are more. So hiring the experts will reduce the risk of accidents.
